Washington, D.C. – November 15, 2023 – The Platform for Collaboration on Tax – a joint initiative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations (UN), and the World Bank Group (WBG) – is pleased to announce the release of its Progress Report 2023.

The PCT Progress Report 2023 provides an overview of the PCT Partners’ collaboration on domestic resource mobilization under five workstreams: tax and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with emphasis on environmental tax, international taxation, medium-term revenue strategy (MTRS), resilience to and preparedness for shocks, and stakeholder engagement, dissemination, and internal exchanges. The key achievements highlighted in the report include the release of the PCT Carbon Pricing Metrics report, the annual update of PCT’s Tax Projects Database, which brings together Partners’ tax-related activities and capacity development projects across the globe, and a successful knowledge exchange on MTRS at the first MTRS country roundtable. In the past year, PCT Partners also made significant contributions to ongoing global discussions and consultations on the two-pillar solution to address the tax challenges arising from the digitalization of the economy.

The PCT Partners are committed to deepening their collaboration on domestic resource mobilization to help countries develop resilient tax systems and better fiscal policies in response to the rapidly changing global tax landscape. To continue this commitment, PCT Partners and development partners have agreed to extend the funding for the PCT Secretariat until June 2028 and develop the PCT Secretariat’s future workplan.
